statement
Yours Truly is a contemporary art space and ceramics studio in the Riverwest neighborhood of Milwaukee. Our mission is to be responsive to the needs of artists in the Greater Milwaukee Area and the Midwest. We do this with skill-share amongst makers and an intentional space for artists to both practice their trade and respond to political moments through their artistic or administrative voice.
We are committed to serving our neighborhood and region in a relevant way! This means we are ever changing to privilege the lived experiences of different communities that need to tell their truth. We create a flexible physical space that is open for community fundraisers, teaching, exhibitions, and play.
Yours Truly was founded by Basha Harris, Ethan Kastner, and Meg Zimont in the Summer of 2017 and has remained in the hands of University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Alumni with community-based art practices. The project is now facilitated by Molly Hassler and Taylor Bucki.
*notes
+ We are a collaborative studio with two co-owners and seven studio members. While we sometimes are seeking new members, we currently are not! If you reached out in the past we have kept your information for a wait list.
+ We want to provide accessible art experiences to our community. Our workshops, events, exhibitions and collaborative projects are inspired by the experiences and interests of the resident artists and contributing community members. Our space is wheelchair accessible, however our restroom unfortunately is not.
+ We are constantly working to expand what we offer but our primary goal is to work with and support artists. This most often looks physical space for community building events and skill share - not just ceramics, but photo documentation, fibers, sculpture, reading and writing practice. While we aren’t currently accepting proposals for exhibitions or workshops, still email us your ideas & feelings at yourstrulymilwaukee@gmail.com.
